Clarion West is a nonprofit literary organization with a focus on speculative fiction that runs an acclaimed six-week residential workshop every summer, online classes and workshops, one-day andweekend workshops, a reading series every summer, and other events throughout the year.Our mission is to support emerging and underrepresented voices by providing writers with world-class instruction to empower their creation of wild and amazing worlds. Works Progress Cooperative is Seattle's first coworking co-operative! We offer a coworking space for a diverse group of working professionals to work, connect, and grow. Our all-inclusive space enhances productivity, supports career advancement, and cultivates community. Major donor cultivation. Created and managed annual development plan for the School of Natural Sciences and later, the Department of Student Affairs. Helped to coordinate overall campus annual fund and stewardship plans. Led the effort to raise over $175,000 for the Stem Cell Foundry, including the events, donor cultivation, and mailings. Staffed the UC Merced Foundation Board School of Natural Sciences focus group, Student Affairs focus group, and the Membership Committee. Assisted with planning and strategy for donor and fundraising events, including Yosemite program cultivation event, donor dinners and tours, health sciences lunch, scholarship social, and the 2011 annual golf tournament in support of UC Merced Athletics.Developed the strategy and implementation for the first Athletics Boosters program.

I took over the Community Services Program during a critical transition from grant dependent program to fully self supporting. As such, I planned, managed, hired staff, and oversaw day to day operations for everything from community outings, non-credit classes, theater programs, college for kids and additional special offerings. I managed the highly successful College for Kids summer program. I managed up to 4 monthly educational community excursions, and significantly increased income, maintaining an annual revenue of over $80,000. Planned, coordinated events, maintained sales efforts.Wrote/developed marketing for all classes, trips, and youth programs, including the design and development of the Community Education brochure. Managed database with over 3,000 names, sales, and daily deposits. Supervised staff, student workers, outside contractors and over 50 contract instructors.

Assisted with client coordination and direct mail programs. Copywriting for thank you programs, renewals, sustainers, and appeals. Administrative and office support for senior consultants, including project management during periods of travel & leave. Coordinate best practices efforts in standardizing internal processes, data, and reports.Purchase of materials and lettershop instructions for direct mail, monthly giving, legacy marketing, and donor stewardship programs.

Wrote/developed direct mail, appeals, newsletters, and annual report. Developed annual plan, major donor efforts, donor communications and events. Developed departmental budget.Worked directly with Board of Directors & coordinated development committee.

Cofounded the Palawan Conservation Corps, a program that now serves between 25-50 youth annually, trained new director and key staff/recruited and trained board of directors. Successful in over US$100,000 in National and International grant development, including UNESCO, US Embassy, Canada Fund, and CARPUS (German NGO and funder).Assisted in survey & recommendations for seven Marine Protected Areas.
