I love to hear and tell stories about the ways in which all human beings are meaningfully connected to each other, as well as to the natural world. I’m always seeking visuals that move me and communicate an identity of wandering curiosity, while not shying away from the more challenging themes of this world.

Since mid 2019 I am working parttime as a teacher for the Hopp Foundation for Computer Literacy & Informatics. One of the largest non-profit education providers in Germany, the Hopp Foundation supports schools in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region in implementing digital concepts and teaching formats as well as new teaching and learning methods.I contributed to the following projects within this function:1. Teaching kids and youth about the subject of Informatics in 'the bubble' of the Begeisterbus, a mobile classroom and Makerspace with which we visited school in the Rhine-Neckar region;2. Organising the 2021 'Jugend hackt' youth hackathon for kids and youth. At Jugend hackt events, young people come together for a weekend and develop technical and creative solutions for the issues that concern them- with the motto: Improve the world with code.

1. Qualitative Research: Involved in the design, implementation, and analysis of an NWO-VIDI commissioned, empirical research on the impact of the international right to reparations on victims of genocide and war in Cambodia, Congo, Cyprus and Guatemala. This research is part of the INTERVICT Reparations Initiative (see link below).2. Consulting: Conducting research on behalf of INTERVICT for third parties, such as The Hague Institute for Innovation of Law (HiiL) and the Dutch Public Prosecution Service (Openbaar Ministerie).3. Education: Lecturing in three master-level courses (‘Victims in National and International Criminal Justice’, ‘Psychology and Law’ and ‘Current Issues in Victimology’) and supervising students in the research and writing for their thesis.

As a Mentor I was responsible for guiding and coaching unaccompanied minors from Syria and Eritrea to self-reliance and integration in the Dutch society, by creating a safe and pedagogical climate, building relationships of trust, and stimulating resilience.

An in-depth, qualitative research in Liberia (West-Africa) in cooperation with the Liberian Independent National Commission on Human Rights (INCHR) for which twelve survivors of the Liberian Civil War were interviewed about their lives and asked to reflect in particular on aspects of victimhood, justice and forgiveness.
