At ED, I currently oversee/ manage 75 GEAR UP and Talent Search programs across 12 states. In the Higher Education Program office I perform professional work for educationally related programs (or groups of programs) directed towards improving America for low-income, underprivileged and underrepresented areas. Program objectives are achieved through the management of grants, audits, contracts, and loans, as well as through professional leadership and expertise. Some key tasks include:Assist applicants with requirements for submitting proposals for grants and on appropriate ways of developing program proposals to be submitted in grant applications.Review annual performance reports and make recommendations for continuation of funding based on the extent of substantial progress in grantees achievement of approved objectives.Participate in the peer review process of grant proposals under consideration for awards of grants and contracts. Make funding and policy recommendations to the program staff concerning pending awards and related matters. Participate in the analysis and interpretation of regulations, statutes, policy and procedures, relative to the administration of Federal grant programs.As a COR II, create and manage competition contracts for various Education programs. During the competition help select, invoice and guide contractors through the process. Ability to obligate up to $500,000 in federal funds.

In this role, I managed the vital administrative, logistical and operational processes of a retail store producing $8M+ in sales annually. My areas of responsibility included profit and loss procedures, risk analysis, data analysis, management training, loss prevention, human resources, data entry, risk mitigation, SAP, purchasing, merchandising, DSD vendor management and logistics. I drove performance improvement by conducting detailed analyses of operational processes and procedures to identify and resolve inefficiencies. Through multiple established vendor relationships I purchased new inventory weekly based on the surrounding community needs and sales patterns. I have also assisted my district, which spans from Northern Virginia to Northern Prince Georges County, in training and developing several store logistical teams for new company roll outs. I maintained up-to-date knowledge on NCAA rules and regulations in order to design and facilitate presentations on compliance issues to various teams and appropriate staff members and to make annual updates to Compliance Manual.

In this internship, I collaborated with faculty, staff, and university leadership to create and implement marketing strategies and initiatives to promote a culture of institutional and departmental integrity. My role required that I help to ensure that the athletics department adhered to NCAA regulations. I prepared data for Academic Progress Rate and Graduation Success Rate to successfully meet NCAA reporting requirements and met with institutional stakeholders to explain NCAA regulations and respond to inquiries around interpretation of rules. Additionally, I supported the student-athlete admissions process by managing approvals for campus visits, assisting in the evaluation of prospective students, and partnering with Admission Office to input vital student information into PeopleSoft. I also ran various data patrols to ensure compliance and data integrity.

My primary responsibility in this role was to coordinate all activities necessary to invite and compensate panel reviewers for grant review sessions. I served as the panel reviewers' point of contact for matters involving grant application review processes and timelines and performed quality control on grant applications and documentation from grant review panels.
