This involves an entire reworking of the UPB based Pulse Position Modulation technology to optimize the hardware, firmware and software preparing for the deployment of a broad range of IPC based industrial products, focusing on industrial and commercial lighting applications. Licensed the UPB technology to Home Automation Inc. (now Leviton), SimplyAutomated, WattStopper (now Legrand), Sportlite (Now Philips), and several smaller companies.1995 - 2004 Developed UPB division of Powerline Control Systems to develop and license new powerline communications technology (UPB). Received several patents, built research team to develop core UPB communications technology and develop new UPB based application products. 1987 - 1995 Founded Powerline Control Systems, to research and manufacture home automation control systems. PCS designs, manufactures and markets the SceneMaster line of high quality, high performance powerline carrier based lighting controls, which are based on the X-10 PLC protocol. Invented and designed the 1st Smart Switch with built in programmable scenes. The X-10-based Smart Switch was later copied by Smart Home (Switchlinc, Insteon) an Lightolier (Compose) and led to the later development of wireless switches by Lutron and Zwave. Show less
