I have a large work experience for someone my age. I loved working with the owners and feeling like I was directly contributing to the value of their business. In college I worked at the Center for Entrepreneurship and Outreach where I got to directly help students and professors turn ideas into profitable businesses. After that I worked for a time as a sales engineer and learned all about rotating industrial equipment and cold selling. Working as a cost engineer for USACE was a great transition for me to see what government funding and contracts were like while also developing my cost estimation and project management skills. I left USACE to strike out on my own and build my own business. Even though that hasn’t worked out for me yet, I’ve gotten the chance to test myself and grow as an entrepreneur. I want to continue working with groups where I feel like I can contribute to a large part of the group's value. One day, I hope to turn all the ideas I pick up from work experience and turn them into innovations that will leave a legacy.
