Designed the strategy, and led the implementation and growth of a new and shared Innovation Unit in Portugal to accelerate translation at IGC (Gulbenkian Foundation) and ITQB (NOVA University) in partnership with Oeiras Municipality. Created the international peer-reviewed InnOValley Proof of Concept, currently on its 3rd edition. Within 4 yrs of operation achieved a portfolio of 15 patent families, with over €1M translational funding secured and 100 industry engagements in 2023 alone.

- Within a Marie Curie IAPP EC project, developed new analgesic and anti-neurodegenerative compounds that were patented and licensed to a Portuguese biotech company- Wrote 5 original and 3 review papers as first author and an invited book chapter in the field of CNS drug discovery, analgesia and biophysics- Presented results at international conferences: 5 oral (2 invited) and 8 poster communications, awarded with several travel grants- Project management in EC and National grants; supervision of 2 MD and 2 PhD students- Wrote patents and grant applications- Participated in the organization of 4 scientific meetings
