Development of marketing strategies for the dissemination of the nutrition area in the Group and conducting nutrition consultations.

Between March 2014 and June 2014 I have worked on my second master thesis during my internship at the RIVM, as part of the Master Nutrition and Health of Wageningen University. This study had as main goal to look at the changes in several lifestyle behaviours like physical activity, diet, screen time, sleep, smoking and use of alcohol and drugs in adolescents between the ages of 11 and 14 years.The opportunity to work in the PIAMA study was very appealing to me due to the similarities with my previous research and the possibility to gain insight on several other variables that affect children development. Adolescence is a critical period, a phase of life marked with several changes at the social, physical, emotional, and cognitive levels. Besides the interest in this topic, I felt very motivated to deepen my knowledge on statistical analysis and working on the SAS software. The possibility to work at the RIVM was very significant for me because it allowed me to understand how a public health institution works and how it is to be a researcher on practice.

Between July 2013 and March 2014 I have worked on my first thesis as part of the Master Nutrition and Health of the Wageningen University. This thesis was about the association between dietary quality and physical performance in apparently healthy Dutch elderly people and was done within the NU-AGE project.The relationship between diet and the development of diseases at an older age is not well known, and hence the NU-AGE project aims to increase the knowledge about the diet role in age-related diseases. The NU-AGE project, a dietary intervention, is being realized in 5 countries around Europe, including the Netherlands.The choice of this topic aimed to deepen my knowledge on the nutrition and physical performance of the elderly. More specifically, I wanted to study the association of dietary quality and physical performance of the elderly. This thesis offered me the opportunity of learning how to handle data in the EpiData and Compleat programs and I have also increased my knowledge on statistical analysis using the SAS software program.
