Utilizes the Nuka System of Care for the delivery of appropriate, timely and beneficial care for customer-owners which promote quality and cost-effective health care outcomes working within established standards for case management practice, and Advance Access principles.Formally mentors other staff members on team building and communication skills. Assists in the evaluation of clinical team nurses and support staff; their effectiveness, organizational skills, and team functions and gives constructive feedback. Acts as a resource for nurses and support staff in the clinic for nursing and system issues or questions. Communicates with staff on a regular basis to illicit issues, questions, training needs or best practices. Coordinates teambuilding opportunities for nursing, support staff, and clinical teams as appropriate.As a Cerner Specialist, I sit with other RN's to learn their use of Cerner Millenium and Powerchart. I teach them shortcuts and how to optimize their usuage to become more efficient.

Assess patient and family needs, develop a plan of care based on assessment, direct implementation of the plans of care for a group of patients, collaborate with the charge nurse and care team, and evaluate effectiveness of the care plan. Duties include administration of medications, performing prescribed treatments, managing medical equipment, assisting with patient ADL (activities of daily living) including lifting, turning, and mobilizing patients. The RN assures that physiological, psychosocial, safety, learning, rehabilitative, spiritual, cultural, and self-care needs of patients and families are addressed. The RN actively participates in supporting and meeting the hospital's goals for patient satisfaction and national quality core measures.

Assesses patients’ needs and develop an individualized plan of care for each patient.Provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.Interprets the necessary information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs.
