A seasoned financial executive, Martha Stark serves as a Group Director and SVP for Signature Bank, providing services for businesses and private clients in the metro NY area. Prior to joining Signature, Martha was the Northeast Regional Business Development Leader for the accounting firm of BDO Seidman. At BDO she oversaw business development for the firm’s NYC offices and for four other offices in the northeast. Before BDO, Martha worked in commercial banking for fifteen years, most recently as a Team Leader and SVP for Fleet Bank in charge of the bank’s middle market group covering Nassau County, LI, NY. As part of her work with Signature, Martha has established two round tables for Chief Financial Officers. These groups meet monthly to address day-to-day challenges facing executives and their companies. The groups include over 100 CFOs. Martha is dedicated to the Long Island community. She serves on the LI and Northeastern regional boards of the American Heart Association and is a past chair of the LI board and immediate past chair of the Northeastern regional board. Additionally, Martha has served on the board of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). Martha is also a past president of the board of Adelphi University’s Alumni Association. Prior to these board positions, Martha served on several other boards, including the Theodore Roosevelt Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Women Economic Developers of Long Island, and the Executive Women’s Golf Association. Martha is also a member of Long Island Software and Technology Network (LISTnet). In 2002 and 2004, Martha was honored by Long Island Business News as one of LI’s Top 50 Business Women and was inducted into the LI Top 50 Women Hall of Fame in 2006. Martha attended Skidmore College where she received a B.A. in math. In 1986 she graduated from Adelphi with an M.B.A. in Finance. Martha lives in Garden City with her husband, Bob.
