Martin is the Co-Director and Workshop Manager at Morgan Engineering with over 20 years’ experience in CNC machining, operations, and leadership roles. He started working with the family business in 1998 as soon as he finished Year 10 at Singleton High. He is a proud Singleton local who lives and breathes his local community.In the early days, Martin was overseeing the day-to-day operations of the workshop, this has now shifted vastly, and he has been able to pass his knowledge onto apprentices that he has personally trained to become experienced tradesmen. Martin’s role within the business is very different as now he can dedicate his time to designing and building new infrastructure, purchasing capital equipment, recruitment, business development and tendering both small and large projects. At the start of his career, he completed a four-year Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship attending Muswellbrook TAFE one day a week whilst also working in the shed. In the final years of his apprenticeship he also completed a Certificate 4 in CNC Machining.This gave him the skills he needed when his father retired from the family business, and he had no choice other than to set up and run the workshop.Through Martin’s time at Morgan Engineering, he has gained experience as a first-class CNC machinist whilst also navigating his way around supervising, leading a team, managing tradesmen and training new apprentices.Martin is passionate about preserving a family culture within a corporate structure and maintaining a comfortable, friendly, and harmonious working environment.
