About Martin Briggs

I am a strong independent character with a history of achievements. I introduced a simplified method of teaching English in Thailand. I developed new relationships so increasing funding opportunities in Uganda. At Aviva, I implemented and managed a new aspect of the proposition increasing funds under management to 10% of the total fum within 3 years.I personally planned and budgeted for my 14 months volunteering abroad. I overcame many obstacles and numerous challenges whilst living in an alien environment. I learnt to persevere, adapt and communicate in new ways.I firmly believe in pro-activity in order to make changes.

    Mae Hong Son, Thailand
    International English teaching volunteer to pupils 4 - 16 years of age. Organised and developed my own timetable and quickly gained the trust of the Thai teachers to plan my own lessons. Led on the implementation of a new way to teach English which is now widely used across the junior section as the benefits have been seen.Adapted to the rustic surroundings and lack of comfort and amenities to make my time here a success.

    Kampala, Uganda
    Established an Elderly Person's Programme providing a catalyst for change within the Diocese. Personally saw over 250 elderly and delivered food parcel to each. Led on fundraising across two archdeacons raising sufficient funds to answer the need of the most urgent cases.Left the programme in a sustainable state and am still offering assistance to increase external funding opportunities.
