Take ownership of any Quality Deviations stemming from or relating to Suppliers ensuring full resolution and where practical ensuring uninterrupted production lines.Validation of new Suppliers utilising potential analysis VDA auditing and ensuring standards, traceability, targets/performance levels and 8D response times are understood.Lead the New Part approval process reviewing all requirements of PPAP are correct and arranging/controlling/reporting in house assembly and test results.Management of Suppliers, scheduling VDA Audits, Meetings and the collation, analysis and reporting of KPI’s generating and driving actions and plans for Continuous Improvement.

(1998>) Quality Planning (Manager)Create, manage, improve and Audit the Company Systems to ensure conformity to TS16949.Supervise and lead a team of 6 Audit Inspectors and 1 Chief Inspector.Responsible for ensuring that the quality standards on all production components are to customer contract / agreed standards.Liaison with customers to agree above quality standards and requirements and also to input into corrective action reports when standards are not met.To continue with the quality planning engineer responsibilities as stated below.(1995-1998) Quality Planning EngineerResponsible for the creation of product/process flow charts, FMEA’s and control plans for all new products and the review/update of existing AQP documentation.Review of engineering drawings to determine inspection characteristics and gauging requirements for production and quality personnel for each manufacturing process stage.Creation of operator instructions and visual aids for all operations, utilising scanned images and product quality photographs in Microsoft word and Visio.Conduct Gauge R&R studies and process capability studies for pre-production approval as required by the automotive standards / AIAG Manuals.Design, creation and development of data analysis and reporting systems of quality costs, quality reject levels and fault analysis, utilising paradox and access databases and excel.Creation of corrective action reports/systems for internal and external quality concerns.

Arrange and conduct second party quality system audits to assist in the continuing development and control of suppliers.Develop, control and update product AQP documentation.Manage, develop and expand the company’s network of data collection workstations, training operators, supervisors and quality personnel in the use of the SPC, application software and gauge use.Assist in the design and set-up of gauges for use on data collection workstations.Design, write and develop spreadsheet/database data analysis systems incorporating pareto reports of reject costs and fault occurrences.Assist in the review/update and Internal Auditing of Quality Procedures.

(1990-1994) Quality Control EngineerDirectly responsible for the quality of the products to BS4161 and customer contract requirements.To control the assembly, testing procedures and quality systems to BS5750.Advice on, and control immediate quality problems.Supervise and lead a team of five inspectors.Work within multi-discipline teams to identify, analyse and implement solutions to production and quality failings.Develop procedures within the department and to improve operator training.Implement automatic data collection systems for SPC analysis.(1989-1990) Junior Quality Control EngineerTrained in the correct use of measuring equipment, BS sampling plans and reject/concession procedures within the Bought Out Inspection department.Conduct quality assessments on manual assembly methods, production measuring equipment and new automated assembly machines.Assist in the training of personnel in SPC techniques and the Quality Computer System.(1983-1989) CraftsmanApprenticeship served within the Maintenance department followed by special project work within the Model Shop.
