Field Engineering Director & Senior Precision Inspector
CurrentProvide service the aerospace industry clients by performing high-quality source inspections. Serve as the Technical Lead to a team of 30 direct reports. Maintain regulatory compliance, mitigate risk for counterfeit parts to yield a lean, profitable business. Key Achievements:• Quality Inspection and Corrective Action: Spearheads and executes source inspection of complex SpaceX and Blue Origin aircraft, parts, and components, ladles and harnesses, and composites throughout the U.S; work with the Engineering team and supplier quality team to drive corrective action and improve technical documentation.• Risk Management: Supports nonconforming materials process, monitor SPC activities, and reduce NC of products.• Supplier Quality: Evaluates suitability and stability of prospective and existing suppliers to ensure quality and technical capability, communicate supplier performance to senior leadership, issue supplier corrective action requests and review responses for root cause and repeat defect containment actions.• Source Inspection Lifecycle Management: Drives the entire source inspection lifecycle, including managing requirements (supplier electronic notification) to coordinate inspection, monitor and execute source inspection, results and documentation of inspection results, delivery of results via raw data, documentation, and samples, alerts of non-conformance ensuring quick notification of discrepancies, and lead the corrective action process.• Assessments: Assesses processes and documentation for compliance with industry standards.• Team Leadership: Build, supervise, and manage performance of a team of source inspectors; equip new inspectors with mechanical skills, geometric tolerancing testing, and serve as a trusted advisor beyond the training process.• Time Management: Demonstrates solid time management talent in a remote, field-based, 80% travel working environment.
