I have extensive experience in manufacturing management and analysing and improving manufacturing production processes in the Plastic Injection Moulding, Electronics and Scotch Whisky Industries, using the OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) measure correctly, to identify areas for improvement, and to closely correlate manufacturing performance with cost.I also have a passion for investing in shares and property and after many years of study and research, realised a long held ambition when I set up a Private Investment fund during August 2010 which aims to consistently outperform the FTSE 100 index annually. I currently manage this along with one buy to let property in St Andrews in my spare time. The fund has averaged annual returns of 23% since launch on Aug 5th 2010 through to Aug 5th 2023 which compares favourably to the total gain of 41% of the FTSE 100 over the same period. Major fund holdings currently include , Berkshire Hathaway, Markel, Diageo and Burford Capital.
