Senior Software Test Engineer
CurrentKey areas of responsibility• Create accurate and timely estimates for the testing phase of a project and track them• Create and review test artefacts that maximise the efficiency of the test phase, cover all requirements and allow for a timely delivery• Review and feedback on source documents used to create testing artefacts• Execute testing within defined stage of development e.g. exploratory, regression etc.• Act as a coach and mentor to the Test Analysts within my own function and/or across the Technology Group• Take responsibility for the full end to end testing phase, working with your own team and coordinating cross divisional test activities where necessary• Produce effective test metrics for the Test Team Lead • Attend and contribute to all relevant meetings• Deputise for the Test Team Leader when necessary• Demonstrate in depth level of understanding of the system under test to allow creation of test artefacts• Define the appropriate test coverage to mitigate the identified risks• Demonstrate continuous improvement in product and system knowledge to further increase the effectiveness of the testing function• Identify and embed appropriate opportunities to enhance testing standards• Accurately record and communicate issues found during test phases• Adhere to team process’ and test standards• Contribute to a testing discipline and advise and influence the testing strategy for that discipline• Carry out reviews within my own team and across the technology group to ensure the testing quality is fit for purpose• Collaborate across future roadmaps and take a proactive approach to future deliveries to understand technology trends that may impact testing.• Share knowledge and expertise across the wider team• Suggest appropriate solutions for risk mitigation • Carry out such tasks as directed to meet the needs of the business• Attend, prepare and participate annual review processes
