Design, manufacture and installation of bespoke stairs. Combining hand craftsmanship with computerised manufacture to create impressive, high-end stairs from natural and engineered timber products, glass and metals.

6 months of simple living in a small campervan, travelling around the North and South islands enjoying the beautiful scenery and doing as much rock climbing and hiking as possible.

Season work guiding clients on Via Ferrata rock climbing routes. Enthusiasm, patience, good communication/organisational skills and a sunny outlook essential to get clients up and down the mountain safely and with a smile on their face. Long, physically demanding days in serious terrain and all weather conditions.When not guiding, time was usually spent enjoying the regions countless rock climbs, mountain biking and hiking.

Structural design for a wide variety of Civil and Structural Engineering projects. Experience includes:- Domestic alterations and new builds, large domestic developments- Structural Steelwork & Connection Design - design of mild steel and stainless steel structures, ranging from simple balustrades to highly complex connection design.- Maritime structures: Inspection (visual, boat, diver, rope access), Design & Maintenance- Historic Sea-side Piers: Experience of inspecting and designing repairs for historic victorian piers (cast iron, wrought iron etc.).- Various projects incorporating steel, timber, concrete and masonry design.- Timber Framed Buildings - special interest in 'eco' air-tight construction techniques, PassivHaus etc.- Guest Lecturing at Brighton University: Lecturing on fundamental mechanics and structural design.
