Despite being a linguist by profession, I have been able to make my way in the IT world. It was mainly thanks to my English major that I earned my living in IT at first: as a help-desk agent and a technical writer, later on. Then I moved on to more technical roles, including master data integrator, web app tester, and smart grid solution consultant. The constant drive for me is and has been to learn something new. All along, I have always tried to nourish my natural need to speak tongues: thanks to my employers, I have developed working competence in German, and, to a lesser degree, in French, as well. Russian and Polish remain hobbies but still can be built upon.
