    (1) R&D for new target processes; feasibility studies of chemical processing technologies applied to industrial solutions/solids.(2) Process engineering to take applications from lab testing, through piloting, and on to large-scale development. Develop project economic models for full-scale projects.(3) Plant construction (team member), process commissioning. (4) Plant circuit troubleshooting and process optimization.(5) Industrial process treatment system design and operation. The principal subject of my research pursuits was the application of target lixiviant solutions to solids, in conjunction with the use of ion exchange and/or chelating agents, for the recovery of heavy metals, precious metals, cyanide, and/or contaminants. I directed and performed all mining related research towards the development of new metal and cyanide extraction and recovery techniques. This research focused on chelating agents, primarily resins, with applications centered on improving recoveries in the minerals industry, particularly precious metals systems. The research led to one patent and one provisional patent. The practical application of this research has been manifested in numerous on-site field pilot operations and implemented at a number of full-scale plants worldwide.Organized and conducted on-site pilot operations (USA, Canada, Australia) for testing and demonstrating the use of chelating agents in the capture and recovery of precious metals, cyanide, and heavy metals from mill process streams such as tailings from leach or CIP circuits. These projects demonstrated the efficiency of chelating resin agents in the capture of heavy metals, gold, silver, cyanide, reducing costs and contaminant loads in waste streams by augmenting cyanide re-use, enhancing recovered metal values, and decreasing processing costs. Piloting data was used to configure and size the subsequent full-scale hydrometallurgical plant (adsorption, elution, and resin transfer facilities).
