I was the founding Director of In-tellinc Pty Ltd, a value-adding incubator focused on the development of the Tasmanian IT industry formed through a joint venture between KPMG Tasmania and a Sydney based incubator, Item 3. In-tellinc has now invested in excess of $20m in 30 ventures, a number of which have become successful global businesses.

During my first 8 years with KPMG, I was involved in audit, tax and accounting assignments. I was admitted to the partnership in 1989 and for the next 6 years, focused on insolvency and restructuring appointments – a period of my career that although challenging, provided me with valuable commercial skills.From mid 1990, I applied this experience to the establishment of KPMG Tasmania’s consulting practice. Since 2000, I have focused on the development of the Tasmanian information technology industry with KPMG Tasmania establishing In-tellinc Pty. Ltd. and entering into a partnership with Tasmanian Electronic Commerce Centre (TECC) to establish Tasmania Business Online (TBO)Over recent years, I have taken on a number of business leader roles including Chairman of the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the Northern Tasmanian School Improvement Board. In 2014, I helped establish the Tasmanian branch of the Australia China Business Council and now represent that branch as a Director on the National ACBC Board. My broader community involvement includes a long term Directorship of St. Giles Society Ltd, where I am currently Vice-Chairman.My most recent project is known as "Big Cow" - the development of a Tasmanian Co-operative to double the size of our dairy industry by supplying and producing branded milk powder products from the Chinese market. We have completed a pre-feasibility study which was released to Chinese investors at the TasInvest forum in November 2014. An Information Memorandum is currently being prepared to seek seed funding for the completion of a full feasibility early in 2016. I retired as a partner in July 2015 and am now a contracted consultant to the firm for the next two years with a focus on providing commercial advice to a small number of corporate clients, undertaking valuation and other consulting assignments and continuing the feasibility evaluation of the Big Cow project.
