As a freelance instructional designer, I partner with clients to develop impactful learning and development solutions tailored to their business needs. Using the ADDIE instructional design model, I help analyze their challenges, consult on the most effective approach, and deliver custom solutions. While my focus is often on creating digital learning experiences—primarily eLearning—I also design blended learning strategies, including writing briefs and developing slide decks for instructor-led training. My goal is to create engaging, results-driven learning that drives performance and growth.Recent projects have included:• Partnering with a DEI consultancy business to produce supporting learning resources for their Leadership and Top Talent schemes, delivered to thjree FTSE 100 companies• Creating analytical tools to support leaders of businesses understand their leadership style, communication styles and recognise their own unconscious bias and privilege • Designing and creating scenario based elearning for a large business insurance company• Designing and creating a tablet-based interactive orientation resource for Edinburgh University, to support new students discover their university campus• Working with a major Edinburgh tourist business to create interactive tours and treasure hunts around the city

• Collaborated with senior stakeholders to align the Learning & Development strategy with overarching business objectives.• Worked with external and internal stakeholders to address business needs to support both employee and company growth initiatives.• Led and managed the L&D team, reporting directly to the Senior Leadership Team.• Spearheaded the transformation of the L&D strategy in response to structural and service changes due to COVID-19.• Oversaw the development of a flexible training program to support managers in the company’s new online service division.• Led transformation project to improve onboarding for thousands of part-time staff annually, achieving a 13% reduction in cost per employee and a 28% decrease in the time from recruitment to onboarding.• Implemented automation in both part-time and full-time onboarding processes, streamlining and improving the overall experience.

This role was created to allow Explore Learning to develop a blended learning model for employees. Previous to my employment, the company did provide any online learning.• Developed and executed the strategy for a blended learning approach, including the end-to-end design and production of eLearning courses and digital learning tools, complementing Explore Learning’s classroom training and coaching model.• Delivered eLearning authoring, scenario building, video editing, animation, and audio production to enhance the digital learning offerings.• Created over 20 on-demand, short email courses by leading and coordinating a team of 30+ authors and subject matter experts.• Managed the Learning Management System (LMS) and company intranet, ensuring seamless access to learning materials.• Led and facilitated company-wide online classroom sessions, while supporting the successful delivery of annual in-person company-wide training days and conferences.• Managed relationships with senior leaders and heads of departments to understand business challenges and create effective blended learning solutions.• Evaluated the impact of the learning and development strategy, using feedback and data to continuously improve programs.• Played a key role in Explore Learning’s Learning & Development being recognized as #1 in The Sunday Times Best Companies List 2019, contributing to the organization’s overall ranking as the #2 Best Company to Work For.
