    A new imprint of the Société Jersiaise Photographic Archive named in honour of its founder Emile F. Guiton. Launched in 2020 by Patrick Cahill and Martin Toft it publish regular photo-zines looking at specific subjects through the collections of the photo-archive. The latest edition, ED.EM.05 Agriculture - looking back to go forward is made up of images by Maurice Richardson who donated his archive to the Société upon his death in 2022. The collection provides an excellent insight into all aspects of rural and agricultural life in Jersey from the 1960s through to the 1990s. For India Hamilton, author of this issue’s article, the practices and the deep connection to the land evident in these images, can offer positions for us to begin to re-imagine Jersey’s agricultural future.     He has exhibited in places such as the House of Commons, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre (London), Watershed Gallery (Bristol), Museet for Fotokunst (Brandts Museum of Photographic Art, Denmark), Worker’s Museum and Øksnehallen (Copenhagen) and recently invited to show work from Masterplan at CAPITAL, Ballarat International Foto Biennale 2019 (Australia) and TAXED TO THE MAX, Noorderlicht International Photography Festival 2019 in Groningen, (The Netherlands.) In 2018 he was shortlisted in the Professional Discovery category at Sony World Photography Awards and his portrait ‘High Net Worth Individual’ was selected as a winner in Portrait of Britain 2018 in association with The British Journal of Photography. Recent publications include, Atlantus (2015) a multi-functional newspaper in collaboration with Gareth Syvret and Kummer & Herrman which has been exhibited widely in the UK, Europe and USA. In 2016 it was nominated for the Prix du Livre Author Book Award at Les Rencontres de la photographie, Arles. His recent book Te Ahi Kã - The Fires of Occupation (2018) was shortlisted for the Kassel Dummy Award 2018 and 2019 Best International Photography Book of the Year PHotoEspaña. It was published under the imprint of Dewi Lewis Publishing and designed by Ania Nałecka-Milach. In 2020 he launched Èditions Emile, a new imprint in collaboration with the Société Jersiaise Photographic Archive. Currently, he is working on completing his long-term photographic research project, Entrepôt producing a set of 8 books, each representing an entrepôt (trading post) in Jersey’s post-colonial legacy and transatlantic maritime networks in the Mediterranean, the West Indies, South America and the Baltic in the 18th and 19th centuries.

    Delivering a series of practical workshops for people living in temporary winter shelters run by Crisis, a national charity for homeless people in London. Disposable cameras was handed out to a group of people who were then taught photographic skills and encouraged to record their daily lives and experiences of being homeless in London. The outcome was a curated exhibition of images and text produced by temporary residents which was exhibited alongside my own photographs of street homelessness in London. The exhibition, Alienation shown at Shakespeare’s Globe, London in March 1998 as part of Crisis' 30 year anniversary event.
