• Oversee all operational aspects of 11 different pharmacies throughout the province.• Manage all relevant personnel including 13 Pharmacists and approximately 40 pharmacist assistants.• Ensure all pharmacies remain compliant with legal requirements to employment and practice.• Recruitment of new employees as well as resolving disciplinary issues. • Attend regular meetings with senior management. • Compile information to be presented to senior management with regards to finances and operations.• Liaise with external companies for maintenance, marketing, document storage, housekeeping, and other relevant services required in a retail pharmacy. • Sign off all expenditure and maintenance costs for each pharmacy.• Ensure all aspects of the budgets are adhered to and investigate any discrepancies.• Resolve any complaints or issues that cannot be resolved by the pharmacy manager.• Communicate with manufacturing companies for sponsorships and deals relating to products sold within the pharmacies• Arrange and organize regional meetings including sponsorships, venue hire and catering for the event.

• Manage all personnel and operational aspects relating to pharmacy within the hospital.• Order and receive all hospital stock including medicinal and surgical products and ensure safekeeping of products.• Maintain stock levels for 6 different wards and the operating theatre / emergency room.• Compound / mix patient specific formulations and mixing of medicines as required.• Communicate with the Department of Health pharmaceutical depot to ensure the correct medicines are being used as per governmental policies.• Communicate with doctors to ensure the optimal use of medicine.• Assist in operations of an HIV and TB clinic and outreach program • Attend weekly multidisciplinary team meetings and ward rounds to discuss relevant operations, challenges and interesting cases.• Partake in educational lectures on different professional aspects to keep up to date with the latest developments.• Ensure the budget is adhered to as set out by the provincial department of health.
