I am an Italian native speaker with proficiency in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, 5+ years of experience in language services and a Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology.As an enthusiastic movie-goer, game player and TV series watcher, I have decided to put my skills at work in the field of audio-visual translation (subtitling, captioning, dubbing, videogame localization, and audio description).In the last three years, I have been working as a freelance translator and subtitler for subtitling agencies, TV broadcasting companies, international film festivals, environmental organizations, and post-production studios.My previous career as a cultural anthropologist has provided me with some essential skills to perform quality translation work, such as the ability to manage my time efficiently, to do research with extreme accuracy, and, most of all, to understand and respect the complexity behind cultural diversity.I have also developed strong skills in writing and editing in my own language, which I have put in use in different copywriting, transcriptions, and closed-captioning projects.
