I’m an experienced radio broadcaster with 15+ years’ experience in front of and behind the mic. I have worked with KCLR (the local radio station for the counties of Carlow & Kilkenny in Ireland) since 2005) as presenter across the full range of programming: music, current affairs and sport.Since 2017, I've presented "Ceol Anocht". Its focus is on alternative and independent Irish music. It’s a bilingual show also. It was nominated for an IMRO Radio award in 2020. I was also nominated for "Radio DJ of the Year" in the 2021, 2022 and 2023 Hot Press industry awards.I've been heavily involved in the arts and music scene in Kilkenny and Carlow since 1995 as a performer and as a member of various festival teams (as venue manager at the Kilkenny Arts Festival, the Cat Laughs Comedy Festival, the Kilkenomics, Subtitle Film and Kilkenny Animated). I'm a founding member of Kilkenny TradFest. Since 2005 I have produced and presented:- a weekly music programme called "Folk/Roots" from August 2014 to December 2017- a weekly one-to-one chat show called “People In Profile” from 2005 to 2014,- an alternative music show (“The Eclectic Light Programme”) from 2006 to 2014- a weekly folk and traditional music show from 2006 to 2014 called “Blas Glas”I have produced sports, current affairs, Irish language and religious affairs programmes since 2006.I produced a five-part documentary series about mining in the Kilkenny town of Castlecomer called "Three Miles and Three Miles Down" in 2019, funded under the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland "Sound And Vision" scheme. I also provide MC and Voiceover (VO) services to a variety of clients. I also provide consultancy on podcast and audio projects. I produced a podcast series for Kilkenny Arts Festival and have provided sound design for a number of BAI funded radio dramas.(In a parallel life, I was employed for 34 years in the Irish health service, in the ICT sector from programming to systems analysis and senior ICT management to major project management in the hospital and clinical systems sector. I'm educated to Master's level and professionally qualified to professional standards and a member of the Irish Computer Society and other professional bodies. I was external examiner and tutor with Waterford Institute Of Technology from 1998-2004 and was a member of the Whole School Evaluation team in 2004.)

Radio BroadcasterKclr96Fm 2005 - PresentCarlow/KilkennyI present a variety of radio programmes on KCLR, broadcasting to Carlow And Kilkenny, also available on the KCLR app, the Irish Radioplayer app and on kclr96fm.com. I currently present a show called "Ceol Anocht" on Tuesday and Thursday nights, an eclectic mix of music with a strong emphasis on Irish and local talent. The mix goes from up to the minute indie and alternative music, folk/roots, traditional Irish music and classics tracks across genres. It's a bilingual experience too! I also host regular Studio 2 Sessions across a wide variety of musical genres and act as music associate for some of the flagship programmes on the station. I presented/edited/produced three shows at the weekend on KCLR96FM from 2005 - 2014, broadcasting to up to 72,000 listeners every week. The Eclectic Light Programme presented the best of rock/alternative/indie music with a strong emphasis on local and national Irish talent. It featured the Studio 2 Sessions with a wide variety of local, Irish and international artists.People In Profile was a weekly chat show featuring people from Carlow and Kilkenny. It was a mixture of intimate chat and music and was a show I was proud to produce and present for almost 10 years. It's main feature was to highlight the local heroes, those who are for Carlow and Kilkenny, those who have chosen to live there and their passions and involvement in the life of the region. Blas Glas presented the best of traditional and folk music from across Ireland and further afield. It featured regular Studio 2 Sessions and regular sessions from around Carlow and Kilkenny.Over the years, I have produced a number of shows inclined the religious affairs programme, an Irish language programme and (currently) the weekly Farm Show. I have deputised across speech and music programmes and have been anchor on the Sunday Scoreline (Sports) programme from 2015-2018. -
