Broadcast Engineer
CurrentI manage the technical day-to-day operations of KCLR covering IT, networking, studio management, and outside broadcasts.The role requires a strong understanding of radio broadcasting technology, excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced and often ever-changing environment. Respsonsibilities extend to the installation and maintenance of broadcast equipment (studio and offline), troubleshooting technical issues, liaising with external vendors, setting up live programming for external broadcast.Knowledge of broadcast systems and solutions from Radiomation, RCS (Aquira, Gselector), Comrex (STAC, Access), Tieline (Gateway, Via, Report-It, Tieserver), Wheatstone (LXE, Navigator), SIP, VOIP.The role also encompasses the technical running of a number of large WordPress installs, drawing on years of CMS, SEO experience, hosting and web server configuration and maintenance, performance optimisation, analytics and tracking, web troubleshooting and more.I provide training and support for on-air talent and by keeping up with emerging trends, help steer the future direction of the station from a technical standpoint.
