Embedded Systems design specialist.

ROV pilot and electrical technician for operations aboard the R/V Western Flyer.

· Over 10 expeditions at sea, operating and maintaining Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), Autonomous Under- water Vehicles (AUVs), and sonar systems.· Conducted distinct missions for ocean science, archaeology and exploration across many different research vessels. · Custom electronic fabrication and software engineering for use on at sea robotic systems. · Continual maintenance and safe operation of the ROVs: Hercules, Argus, and Little Hercules. · A series of side-scan, sub-bottom, and multi-beam sonar surveys have occurred accurately discovering ancient and modern shipwrecks. · Recent experience in designing an embedded sensor payload system for higher level control of a REMUS 1500 AUV. I engineered all electronic schematics, custom power system design, performed assembly and programmed data-logging for an embedded PC. · Cruise preparation and project engineering experience in electrical and mechanical installation of sea-going equipment. · Practical experience in use and troubleshooting of commercial grade video production equipment.

· Successful design and launch of user-authenticated web control of production quality Sony robotic cameras. This software is used in both the R/V Okeanos Explorer and in Mystic Aquarium for educational and science telepresence applications. · Multiple web design clientele, for websites ranging from communities to business presences online.

· Aided in design, assembly, and testing of in-situ chemical analysis packages for underwater chemical profiling, plume tracking, and ordinance detection.· Designed and tested support analysis software packages for these instruments, with the added capability of real-time data presentation on the internet.

, UNIVERSITY OF RI 2004-2005 · A graduate research project in conjunction with the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC Navsea Newport). · Developed and conducted experiments to sample simultaneous acoustic and high speed video data of scale surface impacts inside an acoustics test tank. · Collected 8 channel data, processed the signals, and subsequently coupled them to hydro-acoustic theory for source signal characterization, which is key in the success of future tracking algorithms.· Funded by the Office of Naval Research, the research team was challenged to construct numerical models of the sound and pressure radiation profiles of high-speed underwater projectiles.Skills· Systems and project engineering for undersea systems.· Electronic circuit design and testing in EAGLE or ORCAD.· Electronic system chassis design and assembly.· Mechanical design with AutoCAD and Solidworks.· Fiber optic systems design and assembly.· Equipment installation in marine vessels.· Programming in C, C++, Java, PHP, MySQL, MATLAB on all operating system platforms.· Programming and graphics design skills for website applications.· Network management, design, and protection.· Advanced signal analysis and modeling.· Underwater acoustic systems design and survey operations coordination.
