With over 20 years of experience as a U.S. diplomat and extensive experience in renewable energy and critical minerals, Martin Healy works at the intersection of foreign policy, finance, and emerging technology to accelerate sustainable energy solutions.Martin currently works as an International Advisor to Legacy EV, an innovative EV company that electrifies existing combustion vehicles, and as Senior Advisor to the Director General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), focused on building a robust pipeline of bankable renewable energy projects for IRENA's Energy Transition Accelerating Financing (ETAF) platform. Previously, he catalyzed renewable energy investment for the Central American Bank for Economic Integration, helping to develop one of the world's most climate challenged regions. As a U.S. foreign service officer, he led the launch of the Energy Resource Governance Initiative, which forged an alliance between leading mineral-producing countries and helped secure future U.S. access to critical energy minerals. Prior to the foreign service, Martin worked as a senior executive in the telecommunications and internet industries, where he helped establish three start-up companies. He is fluent in Spanish and has a BA in Economics and Political Science from Fairfield University and an MBA from George Mason University.
