I provided Senior Software Testing accountability reporting to IT Director level. I had accountabliity for a team of 55 consultants and defined strategy for both automation and manual/functional testing.The role involved liasing and managing a small team of remote staff and typically ran projects in a magnitude of £10million +.My main accomplishment was a proposal to trim 20% from the testing budget when cuts were introduced, which was delivered without staff loss or compimise of testing quality.

I had a varied role at Sophos, a world leader in virus protection, being part of the growth of the test team from 27 to 45 members. I was a key driver in process improvement, initiating standardisation across the test team. I was also very much involved in recruitment of testers. I also led several successful projects. Roles included:•• Test Lead for maintenance project with responsibility for 8 testers.• Test Lead on Linux based testing project, liaising with outsource company.• Founding member of TIPS, process improvement team.

On joining Metric Group, there were no documented tests for windows software. I designed the test library from scratch, including test plans, specifications procedures and test cases. I was also responsible organising/mentoring other team members to carry them out. Roles included:•• Responsibility for all software testing including supervision of colleagues.• Development of test plans, test records and other test documentation. • Responsible for ensuring all relevant bugs are validated, logged, tracked and fixed.• Pilot of Bug Tracking solution including requirements definition and prototyping.

Initially, I joined as a Junior Programmer, however after about 6 months, I moved towards the field of testing, which was a role I felt happier in.
