Dr. Martin Tadlock is a professor of education at the University of South Florida, after serving as USF St. Petersburg Regional Chancellor from September, 2017 until returning to faculty July of 2022. He came to USF St. Petersburg as Regional Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs in July, 2016.Prior to arriving at USFSP, Dr. Tadlock was Provost and Vice-President for Academic Affairs at Bemidji State University in Minnesota after serving as Dean of the College of Professional and Graduate Studies. He also served as Assistant Vice-Chancellor at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and as Provost and Interim President at Northeastern State University in Oklahoma.Dr. Tadlock has secured more than $18 million in grants and contracts and managed more than $175 million in capital projects over his career. He was instrumental in securing private support resulting in a state financial award for the 360° Manufacturing and Applied Engineering ATE Regional Center of Excellence, one of two National Science Foundation Applied Technology Education Centers in Minnesota.Dr. Tadlock began his career in education over 40 years ago as a middle school teacher, then as a professor of middle level education and director of the National Center of Education for the Young Adolescent, a Wisconsin Center of Excellence, at the University of Wisconsin. He was a professor of middle level education and Assistant Dean at Utah State University, where he established the first middle level teacher licensure program in the state and the largest graduate seminar in the western U.S., the Rocky Mountain Middle Level Education Seminar which served over 500 middle school teachers and administrators each year.Dr. Tadlock's Ph.D. is in Educational Administration and Leadership from Miami University of Ohio.On a more personal note: Interest and background centers around internationalization; diversifying the university experience for students, faculty, and staff; transformational education; pedagogy; and democratizing the workplace.
