    Leading through change is one of the most important challenges of any business leader. In this role I helped lead a 3-year business transformation project including a $130 million investment in new business software and processes to increase sales, improve efficiency and reduce costs. This project included Purchasing and Allocation, Demand Forecasting, Replenishment, Merchandise Financial Planning, Size/Pack Optimization, Pricing/Markdown Optimization, Master Data Management, Stock Ledger, Invoice Match and EDI. As Change Lead, I was responsible for producing Change Impact Analysis and Change Readiness Assessments to not only identify the magnitude and business effects but also to engage the organization and asses key enablers and determine readiness. I created and ongoing interactive stakeholder engagement program to continuously gather feedback from key stakeholders and ensure buy-in and adoption at all management levels. Creating a comprehensive communication approach and extensive role-based training program was also key to ensuring that all associates knew exactly what to do and when. It was also important to manage the health of the entire 100+ person project team through constant communication, periodic "temperature checks" and engagement activities to ensure motivation and productivity stayed high throughout the project.

This was an enterprise look at how we might better align our merchandising, replenishment and planning and allocation organizations and provide them the tools they need to be most effective. This project included organization design, to change how our merchandising and planning teams were structured to better enable them to work as a cohesive team. There was also a great deal of opportunity to improve and create business processes for Planning, Allocation and Replenishment as well as building a robust Pre-season Merchandising strategy. Another major success was the design and implementation of a new assortment planning tool-set unique to Belk. This allowed us the opportunity to build pre-market conceptual plans , actualize and build Purchases and create reporting and analysis on each seasonal buy cycle.
