For his first eight years of employment, Marty devoted himself to learning the art of sales and customer service.After honing his trade with Menzel Plastics, he joined a local fibreglass pipe winding company as a sales rep and would eventually be promoted to sales manager. When he was 26 a unique opportunity presented itself. The company was struggling financially and was looking to sell its manufacturing equipment. Marty was able to raise $500,000 in capital in order to acquire the equipment and establish his own business, Fibrelogic Pipe Systems. The new company was an immediate success, growing from 9 staff all the way to 70 within the first year. To help accommodate his growing business, Marty purchased automated pipe winding machines and constructed a new state-of-the-art factory. These improvements saw Fibrelogic become a large national manufacturer for some of Australia’s largest mining and water supply projects. The company soon grew to 500 staff members and over $50m in turnover, making it a leading SME in South Australia. Eventually, Marty decided it was time to move on from the business and sold Fibrelogic to one of his competitors, RPC Technologies. Since selling the business, Marty has been active as the senior pastor of a growing, vibrant church in Adelaide. He’s also chairman of the Board of their church's private school, which has 2 campuses and is seeing great results in students' education, wellbeing, and faith.
