As an accredited ESOS Lead Assessor, my day to day activities include carrying out energy reduction surveys designed to identify when, where and how energy is utilised within a premise and strategies to reduce ongoing consumption through the initiation of technology upgrades, control enhancements and procedural changes.I also work with, and am responsible for, the development and delivery of Carbon Management strategies for customers through a process of consumption analysis, benchmarking and technology based assessments designed to enable a continuous year on year improvement in relative energy consumption. Working to the principals of “Plan/Do/Check/Act” I advise clients on the process of compliance with standards such as ISO50001, reviewing policy, infrastructure, data capture and energy management systems, results publication and staff engagement to enable compliance and achieve ongoing energy reductions. I also sit on the energy strategy panels of two large commercial organisations. On behalf of a basket of customers I conduct the full data compilation and analysis associated with the annual compliance with CRC-EES, submitting annual reports to the Environment Agency and making the purchase and surrender of the required number of allowances to ensure compliance with the regulations. The service also includes the compilation of annual Evidence packs and periodic reporting to aid clients with the decision making process in respect of the merits of forward purchasing allowances.

As the C&I Account Manager I was responsible for the management of 50 major accounts with a combined order value in excess of £10m/annum. My role was to develop and manage new and existing client relationships, maximising contract value and customer satisfaction. This involved frequent client liaison through face to face meetings, phone and video conferences to identify and resolve any issues and feed back to the operational teams to enable forward planning and continuous improvement of the service lines.I was also responsible for the development of marketing material and web site content as well as attending conferences and exhibitions, providing support to the sales team.

Responsible for the development of energy management initiatives throughout the Boots Group through the promotion of staff awareness, and the implementation of day to day monitoring and targeting regimes.The production of detailed technical evaluations of systems and regulatory changes and liaison with company Group Energy Manager and Directors to communicate issues and opportunities in the utility marketplace.Liaison with Governmental and regulatory bodies to ensure the best interests of The Boots Company PLC are represented, with particular reference to utility deregulation and the developing marketplace.The development of good Supplier relationships in order to tailor Gas, Electricity and Water supply contracts in line with Business Unit requirements. Liaison with Business Unit finance and site management to set achievable cost budgets and consumption targets.
