I have extensive professional experience in higher education for over 25 years as both university lecturer, education developer and education researcher. I have moved across academic disciplines from initially geology and environmental hazards in early career to focus more on general research skills training and academic skill development which forms the focus of my university teaching. I have published research across multiple fields using a diversity of methods, from quantitative psychometric measures and general statistical modelling, to qualitative research and discourse analysis, more recently in the fields of education and health research. I thrive in being a generalist or all-rounder, and have a passion for art, particularly oil painting (https://www.flickr.com/photos/199809722@N04/albums/) and snowboarding in my spare time!
