About Martyn Acreman
As the Global Defense Market Director for Materion, I lead the company’s efforts to establish Materion as the preferred supplier of advanced, high performance materials for the defense industry with an extensive background in beryllium metal, aluminum beryllium and Al SiC metal matrix composites. My goal is to provide our customers with advanced materials solutions that meet their next generation defense application needs. I have over 40 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry, suppling products for aerospace, defense, space, automotive, and nuclear power generation markets. I was born and educated in Great Britain, earning my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and my Master of Science in Manufacturing Systems Engineering. I have since become a naturalized citizen of the United States and have held several leadership roles in the country’s defense manufacturing industry including General Dynamics Missions Systems and Axsys Technologies.You can often find me sharing the latest innovations in materials advancement with engineers at the leading trade shows and technical conferences around the world. I also welcome the opportunity to present and publish, particularly on the topic of how Materion’s high performance materials can improve opto-mechanical systems, thermal management and reduce system weight.
