Senior Network Engineer
Current• Design, Implementation, and support of the Echosp Network infrastructure. The network spans over three Data Centres and over 400 Client sites. • Lead Support Engineer of a bank in Botswana this Bank has 6 data centers 2 in Mozambique 2 in South Africa and 2 in Namibia • Implementation of customer networks within VRF’s over MPLS (Diginet, MPLS and ACCESS DSL, Fibre, Wireless, vrf route-leaking, load sharing across wan, using both BGP and VRF’s.• Working with different vendors at different Data Centres to facilitate connecting their ENNI into Echo’s Network. • Building of Interconnects from our Data Centre to different vendors within Africa who have a point of presence here in South Africa at different Data Centres• Part of a team of Engineers who Designed and implemented Afrihost network when they moved from MTN to ECHOSP. • Installation of Customer Firewalls i.e. Dedicated or shared firewalls (FortiGate) • Configuration of FortiGate SSL VPN Devices MAG 2500 AND SA 2600 series• Configuration EOIP tunnels on the Mikrotiks, also building scripts.• Configure IPT (Internet transit) for our client and engage with our peering partners. Also assist our client with route objects on Afrinic.• Troubleshooting, working and having full understanding of NLDs, re-routing of core traffic.• Configure and troubleshoot switching environment such as trunks, ether channels, vlan trunking, port-security mechanisms, port channeling, to ensure hosted environment is always secure on• Manage customer rollouts from the technical team to ensure together with the Project manager we meet the client’s expectations.• Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols such as RIP, EIGRP, OSPF and BGP, MPBGP, IPsec, as well as standby protocols such as VRRP and HSRP on CISCO, JUNIPER AND MIKROTIK.• Facilitate moving to cloud network and more and configure SDWAN, using devices such Cisco Meraki and FortiGate.
