I managed projects related to power markets M&A, advising the acquisition, divestiture, development, and/or financing of renewable and thermal power plants across North America. I specialized in helping clients understand their positioning within the clean energy transformation, with particular focus on solar, wind, and energy storage resources, as well as emerging technologies such as hydrogen. My expertise also included cost of service and rate design strategies, retail rate forecasting, and customer bill credit forecasting for distributed generation. In addition, I led PA’s capacity compensation modeling teams in the ISO-NE, CAISO, and MISO power markets as well as PA’s ancillary services modeling team and worked extensively with recontracting analysis and energy policies & regulatory matters.

During my time with ECOHZ, I developed a framework to help small and medium-sized commercial and industrial energy customers in Europe procure affordable renewable energy. I worked with ECOHZ Renewable Energy Foundation to identify the economic and environmental benefits of their GO2 that builds on the concept of guarantees of origins and provides 'additionality' in the European markets.

I performed a life cycle analysis on shipping containers in partnership with Lightweight Innovation For Tomorrow (LIFT) to build a model that estimates the effects of weight reduction of shipping containers on fuel consumption of different modes of travel (truck, train, and ship). In addition, I computed the savings in total energy, water consumption, and greenhouse gase emissions as well as the respective reductions in intensities per tonne cargo on both a national and global levels. Finally, I conducted case studies that represent typical shipping container freight hauls to accurately represent the environmental burdens of different shipping modes, and co-authored a manuscript that was submitted for publication.

I evaluated the potential of the Masau stones in terms of functional groups present, surface area, and porosity for use as a biosorbent material. The stones were a candidate to be used in the removal of dyes from waste water. During the research, I operated an Ultra Violet Spectrophotometer to test the absorption of the Masau stones, and worked independently and with PhD students on the different tasks of the project to co-author a manuscript that was submitted for publication.
