Lead internal operations of the department, assisting in the coordination of various initiative teams Serve as a liaison on behalf of the university and keep in contact on a regular basis with various federal and other agencies as well as other professional groups to keep abreast of current developments and to ensure compliance with relevant laws and applicable regulations to help remain up to date on various changes in legal requirements and regulations to prevent ramifications.Oversee and develops and implements assurance measurements and map business process to improve processes and promote constant review and improvement of the administrative procedures governing Sponsored Research and related programs to ensure high quality service is provided to all faculty, college and department units for the university.Collaborate with investigators and administrators at the college and departmental levels to address and resolve issues as well as to provide guidance with regards to the interpretation and application of research requirements; Interpret and disseminate procedural and policy updates. Prepare training material and award guidance documents.Oversee consult on issues that arise during pre-expenditure and expenditure reviews, conduct research of award terms and conditions to provide guidance to sister units, and act as liaison to Colleges/Departments and Sponsor regarding inquiries as necessary. Facilitate processing of outgoing subaward agreements/modifications by reviewing requests initiated by college units.Oversee and establish the maintenance of essential records related to grants and contracts while complying with records retention requirements according to the uniform guidance for real property and equipment purchased on a Federal Grant. Affirming that all required documents and supporting documents will be available for a Federal audit if needed.

-Post Award monitoring -Verify that C&G match and/or E&G match/cost share was met. Determine if the matching funds were mandatory, voluntary committed or voluntary uncommitted. Verify that in-kind commitments from sources outside UCF are documented with a letter of intent and a letter or other documentation substantiating what was actually donated and at what value-Entry of all new awards-No cost extensions-Monitor subcontracts for deliverable and accounts payable-Determine which federal agency reports are required for each award and complete/submit said reports-Manage and coordinate the closeout process for all C&G accounts in a timely fashion in accordance with federal, state and university policies. Communicate with institute, center or department administrators, Principal Investigators, Contract Managers, and Finance & Accounting department.-Analyze project expenditures to ensure costs are allowable, allocable, reasonable and consistently handled as directed by OMB circulars and other Federal Agency Regulations. Review statement of work and other contract and grant requirements for projects. Project sponsors may be the federal, state, county, or city government; hospitals; private industry; non-profits; foundations; etc.-Analyze, coordinate and report findings to Management in various on-going yearly audits. Gather data as needed for UCF internal audits and government agency audits of sponsored projects.-Work with institute, center or department administrators and PI’s on corrective action as needed – this may also include the removal of charges incurred after the project end date such as payroll, goods or services not ordered during the performance period, etc.-ePAF Approver for all hiring of faculty, staff, students
