Serving University of Kentucky students who have mental health treatment needs

I am a licensed and board certified psychiatrist who practices both psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. I treat individuals who seek help for a variety of problems, including depression, anxiety, panic disorder, difficulties in relationships, feeling overwhelmed or stressed. In addition to completing a 4-year Psychiatry residency at the University of Kentucky, I also completed a 2-year advanced psychotherapy training program through the Cincinnati Psychoanalytic Institute.

I evaluated and treated adult patients in the inpatient setting, including, the ER, on the inpatient behavioral health unit and on the hospital consult services. In addition, I worked in a variety of outpatient settings using medications when needed and also individual psychotherapy.

I conducted bench research investigating the pathway and mechanism for the retinoid effects on melanoma; specifically, I studied the growth factor gene TBX2, a gene know to play a role in differentiating melanoma cancer cells back to normal cells following the application of Retinoic Acid.

I lead and directed information technology projects for government clients such as the State of North Carolina, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Indiana, and the U.S. Postal Service. As the program manager, I was responsible for all aspects of running a client engagement. In addition to seeking to exceed client's expectations regarding project results, I worked to build a positive working relationship between consultant and client personnel.
