“All good adventures begin with a little curiosity” ~ Alice in Wonderland. Mary Ann “May” Shepherd’s curiosity of everything drew her to the field of library science then writing. She worked in design and construction full time while pursuing her M.F.A. in creative writing at night. A few years later she relocated to Seattle and was given the opportunity to have the best of both worlds as a specification writer. May serves as a Board Member for the CSI Mt. Rainier Chapter (President), NW Region (President Elect) and previous Puget Sound Chapter Vice President. Her involvement with CSI allows her to meet with various Trusted Advisors within the AEC community and learn about new products as well as develop friendships where shop talk is not a problem. When she’s not working, May enjoys planning her vegetable/medicinal garden, rounding up three dogs for play time, pampering her pet quails and rabbit, making homemade soaps for family and friends, and baking sourdough bread.
