As the manager of Tech Image's content department, I was responsible for all premium content—including case studies, blog posts, white papers, ebooks, and bylined articles—for between 10 and 15 clients at any time. Working with account managers and client subject matter experts, I oversaw, wrote, and edited perspective pieces that addressed leading industry trends and issues. I additionally provided strategic counsel for clients on their content initiatives; managed full-service client PR programs as account supervisor as needed; collaborated with team members to create new business proposals and participated in new business pitch meetings; managed two direct reports; and created internal documents to streamline processes like employee hiring and on-boarding.

I started at Data Quest in 2006 as an intern and stayed with the company for a decade-plus after my internship ended, both as a full-time employee and as a freelancer. Some of the freelance positions I held included copyeditor for two different divisions; corporate undercover (posing as an employee of a company to obtain intelligence); and field investigator (inspecting hotels, restaurants, bars, and retail locations for quality assurance and integrity purposes).

As an account coordinator of several hospitality clients, I scheduled quality assurance inspections at locations across the United States and remotely supervised the inspectors I recruited, answering their questions and providing guidance. I supervised an in-office editor, with whom I worked to ensure high-quality reports were sent to the client. I was available to the client for any questions or concerns.

As managing editor of Storm Water Solutions — a trade magazine with a circulation of 70,000 that serves the storm water management and erosion control industry — I oversaw editing, layout and production of the magazine from start to finish, working with designers, contributing writers, sales staff, and associate editors on content, ads, special sections, products, design, and more. I worked with events and marketing departments to coordinate special events and projects and promote the brand. I supervised the magazine's social media accounts and website, and represented the brand at a number of trade shows and media events each year.
