Serving as Interim CEO of an upstate (3 cities, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, 18 counties) affiliate of Planned Parenthood.Reporting to a Board of Directors while it conducts its search for a new permanent CEO.

Risk management consultation specializing in transitioning nonprofit government funded service providers to the financial risks associated with health care and entitlement program reforms. Consultations focus on a provider perspective in system transitions and offer advice based on experience managing community and hospital based services for special populations. The agencies served include a community mental health center and a transitional housing organization for the seriously mentally ill.

Boughtin and Orndoff are specialists in successful transitions of publicly funded healthcare organizations to public/private models of service financing.My projects have included advising community nonprofits on transition to managed care and training of providers in integration of federal privacy protection regulations.

Directed operations for a hospital department of 87 psychiatric inpatient beds, a psychiatric ER, 6 outpatient mental health and addictions services; established financial stability and a quality assurance program; empowered the management team: integrated the department with the Kaleida Health 5 hospital health care system and improved compliance with state and federal license authorities and payers.

Directed a community behavioral health agency serving an economically disadvantaged, culturally diverse area with a staff of 140. Increased agency size threefold, built an effective management team, established non traditional services, reported to a citizen Board of Directors. Served as Clinical Director prior to promotion to Executive Director.

Served on a team of outreach counselors visiting individuals in mental health emergencies seeking to resolve their crises at locations throughout the county 24/7. Promoted to manager of the program where the duties became coordination of the service with other parts of the system and personnel supervision.
