As a counselor at Harris House I conduct weekly individual therapy sessions (in person and virtual) with clients with substance use disorders and other co-occurring mental health diagnosis in line with client’s established treatment goals. I use a variety of therapeutic tools such as cognitive behavior therapy, strengths-based therapy, solution-focused, trauma informed, and motivational interviewing in session with clients to meet client needs and preferences and achieve therapy goals. I complete initial client assessments to gather a complete psychological, social, spiritual, substance use, and family history and evaluate progress and change monthly using treatment plan updates, Beck Depression Inventory, Burns Anxiety Scale, and Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale. I collaborate with in-house psychiatrists, nurses, program staff, and clinical staff on client medications, medication adherence, and behaviors to provide wholistic care for each client.I facilitate psychoeducation and psychotherapy groups weekly for group sizes 3-20+ to provide relevant information and generate conversation about recovery and overall wellness. I also complete insurance reauthorization forms to provide clinical overview of client progress in treatment and advocate for client’s continued care at clinically needed level of care.

As the Community Referral Coordinator (CRC) at Barnes Jewish Hospital, I assisted patients in navigating care, provided education on primary care and insurance, and secured the needed outpatient follow-up appointments. CRCs work to ensure smooth transitions of care between hospital and community-based care by collaborating with the St. Louis region Federally Qualified Health Centers.

I am charged with leading United Way's youth and millennial engagement programs. I manage four volunteer-based programs that collectively engage over 700 youth, college students, and young professionals with United Way annually. * Grow college student and university engagement with United Way using multiple strategies including increasing promotional and outreach activities and diversifying volunteer opportunities* Engage over 300 young professionals with United Way by empowering a volunteer committee of 10-15 individuals to advocate for and grow involvement of young people through volunteerism* Led three separate teams of 11 total AmeriCorps VISTA members in implementing a leadership development program which over 2.5 years has successfully engaged over 400 young people through 15 partnerships

Kampala, Uganda

As one of HALO's only in-country employees I developed, managed, and facilitated all HALO programming in Uganda. I directed the operations of seven different youth programs, and it was my responsibility to make sure the needs of all +100 HALO children were met on a daily basis.* Oversaw the mentoring of HALO youth in order to evaluate character growth as they acclimated to life off the streets and out of poverty. In addition, I personally mentored youth to provide a positive role model in their life and helped them become successful, contributing members of their communities. * Mobilized 17 employees who were based at the HALO Uganda office and in the field which led to increased communication and cohesive operations between all departments and programs. * Co-developed growth and development plans, including a strategic five year growth plan, by researching and compiling country specific data and working as a team with Uganda and US staff.* Supervised the management of a $194,000 yearly program budget that spanned seven programs resulting in high levels of financial accountability and transparency throughout the organization. * Served as the liaison between Uganda based programs and the offices and donors in the United States maximizing communication and collaboration between teams by providing up to date and relevant information. *Secured multiple partnerships with Ugandan and American organizations specializing in specific fields allowing HALO youth and mentors access to additional training and activities.

Operated a mutli-line telephone in a high call volume department while simultaneously utilizing multiple advanced computer programs in order to serve as the front line and direct contact for all customers. Provided precise information regarding customer’s accounts in a timely manner effectively decreasing wait time and allowing for the maximum number of customers to be helped.
