Mary Wilson Wheelock has more than two decade's experience in nonprofit development and management. She currently serves as the Chief Advancement Officer at OhioGuidestone, the largest behavioral health organization in the state. Prior to OhioGuidestone, she spent two years as the Executive Director, Philanthropy at MetroHealth, where she led the major gifts fundraising team and wasa member of the Foundation's senior leadership. Mary spent nearly 11 years as the executive director of the ALS Association Northern Ohio Chapter. She has also held development positions at the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Great Lakes Science Center and Cleveland Reads.Mary is an active community volunteer. She founded team Group W in the inaugural Cleveland Walk to Defeat ALS in 2000 in memory of her mother, Joanne Wilson, who lost her battle with ALS in 1999. Group W is one of two teams to have participated in every Cleveland Walk to Defeat ALS. In recognition of her outstanding fundraising, she was awarded the first Diamond Award (now the DeGrandis Family Award), in 2009. A retired goalie and coach, Mary now spends her time cheering on and volunteering for the Westlake HS marching band, instrumental music program, and hockey team.
