Funded by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and championed by First Lady of MA Lauren Baker, Child Homelessness Intercept Mapping and Engagement (CHIME), is a novel, 4-year community solutions initiative focused on improving services for Boston's children with parents who are facing homelessness.CHIME convenes state and municipal executive offices and departments, community leaders, frontline staff, and families with lived experience to identify critical barriers and opportunities, determine Priorities for Change, and develop and implement action plans to make measurable improvements on the coordination and provision of services for the City's accompanied homeless children.The project was developed by innovatively mixing and adapting The Aspen Institue's Ascend 2Gen model and a Sequential Intercept Mapping (SIM) process pioneered by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and Policy Research Associates, Inc. to improve services accessed by homeless children.
