The purpose of the program is to develop future community leaders through exposure to community issues, leadership development, civic leaders and organizations. We are assigned an individual internship in each of the five sectors of business, government, labor, media, and non-profit organizations. We are immersed in these five internship sectors, allowing us to learn experientially and establish significant professional contacts. I was placed with Mayor Sly James, Westside CAN Center and Bryan Cave.The summer wraps up with a group community service project. This year, we are working with the Invanhoe Neighborhood Council to implement a design project for their community center.
