Protect the wastewater treatment plant’s ability to effectively remove conventional sewage pollutantsby working with local industrial businesses; establishing pollutant limitations; issuing wastewaterdischarge permits where required; and using enforcement actions when necessary; fulfill all state andfederal reporting requirements associated with the National Pretreatment Program and NationalPollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit; organize all sampling and analytical testing asrequired by the NPDES Permit; act as a liaison between DEP and the Authority for NPDES Permit non-compliance events; work with internal colleagues to assist in identifying and eliminating sources ofstormwater inflow and groundwater infiltration into the wastewater collection system.

Work with local businesses to prevent excessive wastewater pollutants from entering the BrushCreek Wastewater Treatment Plant; set wastewater pollutant regulatory limits on industrial users;create opportunities to reclaim and recycle wastewater and sludge; oversee and improve upon afats, oils and grease (FOG) reduction program with local businesses; develop and implement plansto reduce inflow and infiltration into the collection system; collect and analyze wastewater samples todetermine compliance of industrial users; enforce regulatory limits when appropriate.

Provide high quality potable water by analyzing samples, correcting water quality issuesvia process control decisions, managing flows throughout the treatment process, and ensuring thatdistribution system tanks are continuously cycled to maintain fresh water for the public; managechemical and laboratory inventory; conduct regular analytical tests on water in all stages oftreatment; provide call out assistance for problems relating to the distribution system.

Ensure that the community is being supplied with clean water that meets drinking water standards in a safe and timely fashion; perform onsite laboratory analytical work to aid in process control decisions; organize and complete all maintenance activities for the water treatment plant and collection system; manage all chemical inventory for the water treatment plant; organize and perform a hydrant flushing program.

Performed water quality assessments to monitor the effects of acid rain on the headwaters of the Clarion river located in western Pennsylvania. Specifically I analyzed headwaters of Bear Creek that flow into the Clarion. Based on our samples, alkaline ponds would be constructed to treat the polluted water.

Designed specific landscapes to exceed customer needs. Led field crew on site to install landscapes. Installed and maintained landscapes using power tools, heavy machinery, pesticides, and heavy labor.

Established team skills by working in a group of field crew members that installed and maintained landscapes.
