I work for the Hope College chemistry department and assist in organic chemistry research with Dr. Jeffrey Johnson. My research focuses on developing new methodologies for organic synthesis by implementing organometallic reagents. The time commitment of this research varies with the time of year. During school semesters I am required to attend lab for a few hours every week, but during the summer of 2015 I was employed full time. This job requires that I carry out organic reactions independently, analyze and interpret my results, and share the results with my colleagues. I am currently working with the other members of my lab on publishing our results.

This job requires that I meet with 1-3 students for at least an hour every week to assist them in their academic pursuit of chemistry. As a tutor I am responsible for communicating with my tutees, scheduling tutor sessions, developing lesson plans and study materials suited for my tutee's needs, and supplying weekly updates of my tutee's progress to my employer.

-Greeted hotel guests, checked guests into rooms, answered questions and catered to concerns.-Assisted hotel staff in maintenance including trash removal, supplies stocking, laundry, utility repair, and maintenance of pool chemicals.-Answered phones and kept computerized documents of reservations. -Managed hotel revenue and reported weekly income to my supervisor.
