Scott and his team are responsible for industry development, education, technical service, and promotion on behalf of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers (BAC) and their contractors. Scott has developed and presented continuing education seminars on a variety of masonry topics to architects, designers, and contractors all over the world. He has authored technical articles for The Construction Specifier, Structure Magazine, Licensed Architect, Masonry Construction, Tile Contractors’ Association of America, and many other industry publications and associations. He is the lead designer of the Masonry Detailing Series, an exhaustive online collection of masonry, tile, and stone details used by countless design professionals internationally. In the Tile/Marble/Terrazzo arena, Scott is a delegate to the ANSI A108 Accredited Standards Committee for Ceramic Tile, a voting member of the Tile Council of North America Handbook Committee, and a member of the labor/management craft committee of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers.Scott has a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Illinois Institute of Technology where he was the inaugural Crown Scholar. He is a licensed architect, a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, and a Fellow of the Construction Specifications Institute. He lives in suburban Chicago with his wife and has three college-aged children.
