Dr Bernini is full time Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry at the Central Middlesex Hospital, CNWL (Central and North West London) Foundation Trust, where he holds a substantive post since 1998. During his 24 years experience in the UK, he has developed a specialist interest in Adult ADHD (Attentive Deficit Hyperactive Disorder), mood disorder and bipolar affective disorder, in integrative psychiatry as well as PTSD, OCD and refractory schizophrenia. Dr Bernini can conduct assessments in Italian and English. Consultations can be provided within 1-2 weeks of the request. He consults on Monday all day and on Saturday mornings. Dr Bernini obtained his medical degree from the University of Verona in 1991 and his Speciality at the same University in 1996. During his residency in Verona, he gained a wide variety of experience working in one of the most prestigious psychiatric community services in Italy, which is also a member of the WHO and world known centre for epidemiological studies in psychiatry.During his residency he spent six months of his training in Washington DC, USA, at the Department of Addictions, Victims and Mental Health Service, Montgomery County, Maryland, USA under the direction of Prof. L. Mosher. An experience that offered the opportunity to understand the delivery of psychiatric care in the USA and to be involved in research.After completing his residency, he moved to London to work in the out-of-hours team at St Mary's Hospital, London. Since September 1997 he took an interim position as Consultant and was appointed in October 1998 in a substantive post at CNWL Foundation Trust. During his employment with CNWL, he has become a Honorary Senior Lecturer in 2005 of the Imperial College and has been appointed Local College Tutor - North West London Training Scheme in Psychiatry. Since 2015 he has become an APA International Fellow.
