Responsibilities at Experimental beamlines of PSI:- Designed and executed experiments on the polarized cold neutron imaging beamline.- Organized the experimental schedule and implemented instrumental setup modifications.- Installed sample environment components (e.g., mechanical testing machines, furnaces, climate chambers, cryocoolers, magnetic frames) for in-situ testing.- Communicated and supported external users.Development of Advanced Analytical Techniques:- Neutron grating interferometry (NGI), dark-field imaging (DFI), polarization contrast neutron imaging (PNI), and Bragg edge imaging (BEI).- Designed instrumental setups and developed software for data reduction, processing, and analysis.- Created physical models for quantitative extrapolation of microstructural parameters.Algorithm Development:- Developed algorithms for 3D reconstruction of computed tomography.- Set up and utilized electrical and high-voltage components such as power supplies, wave generators, neutron detectors, and magnetic yokes.- Developed software tools and algorithms for data analysis, reduction, processing, visualization, and data management workflows.- Applied statistical methods and Monte Carlo ray tracing simulations for experiment simulations and instrumentation setup.Management and Documentation:- Managed the experimental schedule for user operations.- Documented instrumentation and components available for experiments.Material Characterization:- Characterized mechanical engineering properties in metal additive manufacturing and engineering research (Fe-based alloys, CuCrZr, Ti-based alloys).- Measured residual strains and stresses, porosity, crystallographic texture, grain/crystallite size, phase transformation, and evolution using advanced neutron imaging, XRD, neutron diffraction, EBSD, SEM, EDX, and metallography.- Detected failures and defects for process improvement.Soft Matter System Characterization:- Characterized nano and microstructural properties (volume fraction, size distribution, structure and form factors, structural alignment) in biology and chemistry applications.- Employed DFI, SAXS, SANS, SEM, and TEM for analysis.In-Situ Testing:- Characterized physical microstructural parameters under mechanical loadsConsulting and Collaboration:- Consulted and supported experiments of external partners (industry and scientific collaborators).- Built relationships and scientific collaborations.Dissemination:- Published in high-impact peer-reviewed scientific journals.- Presented orally at top conferences and workshops.
